Services

Keep the catalog of what you offer to customers, with prices, and see the projects and customers each service is used by.

Services is the catalog of what you offer to the people you sell to, and what it costs. It now sits in the CRM group of the sidebar, with Contacts, Leads, Pipeline, and Scheduling, and opens at /services. Before this move it was listed under Products and More, which no longer exists. Products, the catalog of goods, moved to Supply Chain.

Access and permissions

Services needs the Services module. Anyone who can open the module can read the catalog. Creating, editing, and deleting services is for managers, and some information on a service, such as projects, customers, and agreed client prices, appears only to people who can see those records. Where a section is not available to you, the page says so.

The Services list

Open /services. The list shows each service with its description, status, and price or price range. Switch between Table and Grid, search, and filter by status. Use the row menu to open, edit, or delete a service. A deleted service leaves lists and pickers but existing invoices keep it, and Recently deleted restores it.

If the workspace has no services, the page says No services yet and offers to define what you offer.

Create a service

Select New. The page uses the same layout as a product, with a General Information tab and a Sales tab.

  1. Enter the Service Name.
  2. Set the service as Can be Sold, and choose its status (Active or not).
  3. Enter the Price, which is used on invoices and orders. To quote a range instead, choose Add a price range and enter Price min and Price max. The maximum must be at least the minimum.
  4. Add a sales description that explains the scope and the outcome the customer receives.
  5. Save.

The service record

Open a service to see its details in three tabs:

TabWhat it shows
OverviewAbout this service, the catalog, the projects that use it, the customers it is assigned to, and the assigned staff
PricingThe catalog price or range, how it is billed, and the prices agreed with individual customers
ActivityChanges made to the service

A service with no agreed customer price is charged at the catalog price. Use New project on a service to start delivery work for it, and see Create and manage projects for how projects link a service. Assign a service to a customer from the customer's page, or deliver it in a project.
