Delivery

Deliveries and shipments

Start from the Delivery overview, then pick, pack, validate, and ship deliveries, create backorders, and follow carrier shipments.

Delivery is a module of its own in the Supply Chain group. It holds the deliveries that send reserved stock to customers, the shipments that follow them to the door, customer returns, delivery methods, and carriers. It used to be part of the Sales area at /sales. Those addresses now redirect to /delivery.

Access and permissions

Delivery needs the Delivery module and the Inventory module, because every delivery moves stock. A workspace that already used deliveries when Delivery became a module of its own has it installed, and everyone who had Inventory access has the same access to Delivery, so nobody gained or lost access. Reading follows your module access and record scope. Creating, validating, shipping, and cancelling require SUPER_ADMIN or MANAGER.

Delivery is announced in the Store with the Brand new module dialog and is never installed on its own. Add it from the Store as described in Apps catalog and modules.

The Delivery menu

Select Delivery in the sidebar. Its dropdown, and the matching top bar tabs, list:

The overview

The overview opens with a Ship an order quick start. Its shortcuts are Ship an order, Track a shipment, Record a return, and Set up methods and carriers. Four figures sit below it:

  • Ready to ship: deliveries that are drafted or ready to leave.
  • Late: deliveries past the promised date.
  • Shipped this week: deliveries shipped in the last 7 days.
  • Returns to process: customer returns not received yet.

Ready to ship lists the deliveries that have waited longest, and All deliveries opens the full list. When nothing exists yet, the page says Nothing to ship yet and offers Set up delivery methods.

Where deliveries come from

A delivery is created when you deliver a confirmed sales order from its Deliver dialog, or when an online order is paid and its stock side is created. You do not create a delivery from a blank form. See Sales orders.

Deliveries

Open /delivery/deliveries. The list has a search box and filters for Status, Fulfilment, and Customer, and it shows the number of deliveries. It carries no summary cards. The overview shows the headline figures, and a row opens the delivery.

Delivery states are Draft, Ready, Done, and Cancelled. The product also derives a more specific customer facing status from pick, pack, ship, carrier, and backorder activity.

Open /delivery/deliveries/[id] to see the delivery and its tabs: Picks, Packages, Shipping, and Timeline. The Timeline combines the delivery, pick, pack, ship, package, and carrier events into one history, so use it to diagnose status instead of inferring from the delivery row.

Validate a delivery

On a Draft delivery with quantity still owed, Validate ships what is left in one step, without a pick, pack, and seal round trip. Enter the quantity for each line. If you ship less than is owed and backorders are enabled, a backorder delivery stays open for the rest. If backorders are disabled, a short shipment is rejected.

Pick and pack

When Warehouse Operations is enabled:

  1. Select Create Pick on an eligible delivery.
  2. Complete the pick using the configured removal strategy and source bins.
  3. Select Create pack operation.
  4. Build cartons and seal or label them.

The delivery page links directly to the related pick and package records under Warehouse.

Ship sealed packages

A Draft delivery with sealed or labeled packages can be shipped from its detail page or from /delivery/shipments/new.

  1. Choose the delivery and packages.
  2. Use Ship for all packages, or select a subset when backorders are enabled.
  3. Confirm the action. Shipping posts the outbound stock moves and confirms the delivery.

If only part ships and backorders are enabled, agaro creates a child delivery for the remaining cartons. If backorders are disabled, a short shipment is rejected.

Shipments

Open /delivery/shipments. This is the one shipments list. It combines warehouse ship operations and carrier shipments, and it adds the shipment notes recorded on online and manual orders for people who can open Orders. The older shipment lists in Warehouse, and in Orders for people who can open Delivery, redirect here.

Use the group filter to narrow the list to Pending (not handed to the carrier yet), In transit, Arrived, or Canceled. A date range and a search narrow it further. The list carries no summary cards. Progress is shown as Packed, Labeled, Shipped, and Delivered when those events exist.

A row menu offers these actions where they apply:

  • Open shipment and Open delivery.
  • Packing slip for an order shipment.
  • Track shipment, which opens the carrier's tracking link.
  • Check status with Shippo, which reads the carrier's current status for an order shipment that has a carrier and a tracking number. See Carriers and Shippo.

Carrier shipping

Delivery methods at /delivery/methods can use a connected carrier account. On an eligible delivery, request live rates, choose a service, and dispatch. The registered shipment keeps the tracking number and the carrier state. See Customer returns and delivery methods and Carriers and Shippo.
