Product images

A product can have more than one image. The images form a gallery in a fixed order, and the first image is the main image. The main image is the picture shown on the website shop, in the product list and grid, and in Inventory.

#Limits

• A product holds up to 12 images.
• Pictures can be PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 15 MB each.

When the gallery is full, add is turned off until you remove an image. Creating and editing images needs permission to edit products: SUPER_ADMIN or MANAGER.

#Add images

The large picture box in the header of the product record shows the main image. A row of thumbnails sits under the product name and the capability toggles.

1. Select Add image, or drag a picture onto the picture box. The box says Drag image or click.
2. In the picker, choose a picture that is already in your Image Bank, or upload a new one from your computer. There is one picker, so there is no separate Image Bank button on the record.
3. The image is added to the end of the gallery and the count updates, for example 3 of 12 images.

Every image you upload to a product is stored in the Image Bank first, so it is reusable elsewhere and appears under Images. If attaching an upload to the product fails, retry the same file. agaro attaches the file that already uploaded instead of uploading it a second time.

You can also choose images on the New product page before you save. If the product saves but an image cannot be attached, the message says how many images were not attached. Open the record and add them again.

#Choose the main image

Select a thumbnail and use Make main to move it to the front of the gallery. That image becomes the main image everywhere the product is shown. The main thumbnail is marked Main.

#Reorder, describe, and remove

• Reorder: drag a thumbnail, or use Move image earlier and Move image later. If someone else reorders the same product at the same time, you are asked to refresh the product and try again.
• Describe: each image has an Image description, up to 300 characters, used as its alternative text.
• Remove: Remove image takes the image off the product after you confirm. The file stays in your Image Bank.

#Images added another way

A product created by an import, the API, or MCP can arrive with a single image address. When you open its record, that address appears as the first image in the gallery, so the record always shows the same picture as the product list. Image addresses must start with http:// or https://.
