Analysis: figures and trends for each finance module
See the figures and trends for Bank, Vendor bills, Income, Expenses, Payments, Invoices, and Quotes in one place under Reports, opened from each list's Analysis button.
List pages in Finance no longer carry a row of summary cards above the table. The figures and the trends that used to sit there now live in Reports, in a section called Analysis, at /reports/analysis. A list stays focused on its records, and the analysis is one click away.
Open an analysis
There are three ways in, and all lead to the same page:
- Select Analysis in the header of a list: Bank (Transactions), Vendor bills, Income, Expenses, Payments, Invoices, or Quotes.
- Open Reports and choose a module under Analysis in the Reports navigation.
- Use the Analysis row in the sidebar dropdown of Payments, Expenses, or Income.
The older addresses /payments/analysis, /expenses/analysis, and /income/analysis redirect to the matching analysis in Reports, so existing bookmarks keep working.
The address names the section, for example /reports/analysis?module=invoices. Opening /reports/analysis with no section opens the first one you may see.
The seven analyses
Each analysis page has an Open button in its header that returns to the list, such as Open invoices.
| Analysis | Module you need | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Bank | Expenses, and the Super Admin or Manager role | Connected accounts, transactions to review, and the money moving in and out. Figures include connected accounts, accounts that are disconnecting or disconnected, transactions to review, money in and out still to review, and statements. Charts show money in and out by month and transactions by status (To review, Categorized, Matched to a payment, Ignored) |
| Vendor bills | Vendor Bills | What you owe your vendors, what is due and what is paid: open payables, overdue, due this week, and paid this month, with bills by status and what is left to pay by when it falls due |
| Income | Income | Where income that is not invoiced comes from, how it is paid and how it moves: income this month, non invoiced revenue, largest source, revenue growth, average transaction, and income year to date, with income by month, revenue sources, the category mix, the latest entries, and payment methods |
| Expenses | Expenses | Spend over time and by category, vendor, employee, department, and payment method: monthly expenses, recurring expenses, spend in the last 30 days, one time expenses, top category, and vendor count |
| Payments | Payments | What you collect, how customers pay, how long they take, and what fails: Payments, Refunds, Net collected, and Outstanding balance, with the payment insights |
| Invoices | Invoices | What you have invoiced, what is outstanding and overdue, and how late it is: total invoiced, outstanding, overdue, and collection rate, with invoices by status and receivables by age |
| Quotes | Invoices | Quotes sent, answered, and accepted: the quote count, drafts, quotes awaiting an answer, and accepted quotes, with quotes by answer |
Expenses and Payments have a period selector in the header, and the choice stays in the address.
Every figure uses the workspace currency. When other currencies exist, the figure says that amounts in other currencies are not included, because amounts in different currencies are never added together.
Who sees what
The analysis follows the module and the role of its list. You only see the sections you could open as a list. Quotes follow the Invoices module, and Bank follows the Bank pages, which are for SUPER_ADMIN and MANAGER.
If you ask for an analysis you cannot open, the page says that the analysis is not available to you and links back to Reports. If you cannot open any, it says that no analysis is available and asks you to talk to your workspace administrator. Within an analysis, a reader without read access to the records behind it sees a calm notice instead of an error.
Common problems
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| The list has no summary cards | They moved. Select Analysis in the list header. |
| An analysis is missing from the Reports navigation | You do not hold its module, or your role does not include it. |
An old /expenses/analysis bookmark opens Reports | It redirects to the Expenses analysis in Reports. Update the bookmark. |
| A figure says it is one currency only | Other currencies exist and are left out of the total. |
| Bank analysis is not available | The Bank pages are for Super Admins and Managers. |
