Modules
Customize dashboards and widgets
Create named dashboards, use the fast live editor, add widgets by module, and control layout, chart, range, and quick actions.
The dashboard is a live reporting canvas built from metrics your account is authorized to read. You can maintain separate named dashboards for leadership, finance, sales, inventory, or a specific workflow without duplicating the underlying business data.
Open the live editor
Open Dashboard and select Customization. The editor loads beside the canvas. Its larger catalog and settings code is loaded only when needed, which keeps the normal dashboard fast.
The editor has four tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Layouts | Add a ready made group of widgets by module or business type |
| Widgets | Search the widget library and browse live metrics by module |
| Settings | Change the selected widget's title, source, chart, date range, and display options |
| Action | Choose the behavior of the dashboard quick action control |
On a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move between these tabs. Home selects the first tab and End selects the last.
Add a ready made layout
The Layouts tab provides complete reporting sections. Filter by Module or Business type, search by name, and select a section to add its available live widgets to the canvas.
Only metrics your account may access are added. If a section normally contains six widgets but you only have access to four of its sources, the preview and count show the four that can be used.
Use the widget library
Open Widgets to see the widget library. Use the search box or Browse by module to narrow the catalog. Modules with no available metric sources are hidden from the browse list, so every visible module choice produces useful results.
Each widget card shows a real preview shape, the metric name, its module, and whether it is already on the dashboard. Select Add to place it in the next free position. The library stays open so you can add several widgets quickly.
The capacity indicator shows the number of widgets in use and the maximum allowed. A source already on the dashboard is marked Added and cannot be duplicated through the library.
Arrange and resize
While editing on a desktop sized canvas:
- Drag a widget from its header grip to move it.
- Use the resize handle at the lower corner to change its size.
- Watch the landing preview before releasing the pointer.
- Select a widget card to open its settings.
- Use the remove action on the card to take it out of the draft.
Widgets snap to the grid and cannot overlap. On smaller screens, the dashboard uses a persisted mobile order so the cards remain readable in a single vertical flow.
Configure a widget
Select a card, then open Settings. Available controls include:
- Metric source
- Custom title
- Chart type, including KPI, table, and supported chart forms
- Date range
- KPI appearance
- Comparison visibility
Settings preview on the canvas immediately. The editor displays Previewing live to remind you that the change is still part of the draft. Select Save at the top of the editor to persist the complete layout.
The dashboard period control can apply a shared range such as the current year to widgets that inherit the dashboard range. A widget with its own fixed range keeps that setting.
Save, cancel, and reset
Select Save to persist additions, removals, positions, sizes, mobile order, and widget settings as one dashboard update. If saving fails, the editor keeps the draft so you can retry.
Select Cancel to leave edit mode. When the draft has changes, agaro asks whether to keep editing or discard them. Discarding restores the last saved dashboard.
Select Reset dashboard layout to replace the draft with the authorized default layout. You must still save to keep the reset.
Create and manage named dashboards
Open the dashboard selector near the top of the page. From this menu you can:
- Switch between dashboards
- Create a dashboard from Executive, Finance, Sales, CRM, Inventory, Warehouse, or Blank templates when available to your modules
- Rename the current dashboard
- Set the current dashboard as your default
- Delete a dashboard when at least one other dashboard remains
- Export the active dashboard
When creating a dashboard, leave Customize this template after creating selected to open the live editor immediately.
Deleting a named dashboard permanently removes that dashboard and its saved layout. It does not delete invoices, contacts, inventory, or any other source data.
Performance and data loading
The canvas batches metric requests rather than loading every widget through a separate page request. Chart renderers, the widget catalog, and widget settings are deferred until needed. Search input uses deferred filtering so typing stays responsive even when many metrics are available.
For the fastest normal load, leave edit mode when you finish. The normal dashboard does not download the editor until you hover, focus, or select Customization.
Troubleshooting
A module does not appear under Browse by module
The module has no dashboard metric available to your account. Confirm the module is installed and that your role or access group can read its data.
A widget says Added
That metric source already exists on the current dashboard. Select the existing card to change its chart or range.
Save reports a newer dashboard version
The dashboard changed after your editor loaded, often in another tab. Reload the page, review the current layout, and apply your changes again so you do not overwrite newer work.
Customization is missing
Your account can read the dashboard but cannot write its layout. Ask an administrator to review Dashboard app access and the DashboardGrid model permission.
A widget shows no data
The metric can be valid while its date range has no matching records. Try a broader range, confirm the source module contains data, and verify your record scope allows those records.
