Getting started
Set up your workspace
Complete company, fiscal, plan, branding, import, and payment setup using the current onboarding flow.
A workspace is the data and permission boundary for one business. Contacts, invoices, tasks, employees, stock, and settings are scoped to that workspace. The application enforces the boundary in every action and the database enforces it again with row level security.
Complete onboarding
After account creation, agaro opens /onboarding. The exact steps depend on how the workspace was created.
| Account context | Steps |
|---|---|
| Direct business | Company, Fiscal setup, Plan, Done |
| Agency owner | Company, Fiscal setup, Agency plan, Done |
| Agency managed client | Company, Done |
| Older account with no selected type | Account type, Company, Fiscal setup, Plan, Done |
The Company step asks for the business name and an optional industry. The platform name follows the business name.
The Fiscal setup step is optional. Choosing a country preselects its currency and statutory defaults. You can review the tax rate, invoice prefix and reset rule, numbering padding, and cash rounding before continuing. These values remain editable in Finance settings.
The Plan step hands the administrator to Stripe Checkout to save a card and start the trial. If checkout is unavailable or the current user cannot purchase a plan, the wizard explains why and allows setup to continue.
Finish the optional setup work
Branding and imports are no longer forced wizard steps. The Done screen links to the real product surfaces:
- Add a logo, brand name, tagline, and accent under
/settings?tab=general#branding. - Import contacts from
/contacts?import=1. Other supported lists expose their own Import control. - Invite teammates and assign access from
/roles. - Connect Stripe for customer payments under
/settings/payments.
This design keeps onboarding short and prevents a setup only version of features that already exist in the product.
Understand Workspace Settings
Open Workspace Settings at /settings. Managers and workspace owners see the settings areas their role and installed modules permit.
| Area | What it controls |
|---|---|
| General | Company identity, workspace branding, and document layout |
| Plan and Billing | Subscription, installed modules, and the Apps catalog |
| Finance | Fiscal configuration, tax, finance lists, payment providers, and payment methods |
| Communications | Inbound email, digests, templates, authentication emails, and delivery diagnostics |
| Integrations | Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, address lookup, and geolocation where enabled |
| Devices | Barcode and printer configuration where enabled |
| Security and Access | Two factor policy, roles, access rights, settings audit, and privacy |
| Developer and AI | AI defaults, usage budgets, and API or MCP keys where enabled |
Branding behavior
Workspace branding replaces the default header with your logo, display name, and tagline. Leaving a field blank uses the workspace or agaro default. Save branding from the General tab and reload if another open browser session still shows a cached header.
Common problems
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| A settings area is missing | The related module may not be installed, or your role may not have access. |
| The plan step has no checkout | Only authorized administrators can buy a plan. Continue and ask the workspace owner to open Subscription later. |
| No custom subdomain field | Per tenant subdomain selection is not part of onboarding. Domain configuration lives in Settings where available. |
| Imported data is not offered in the wizard | Import from the destination list page, such as Contacts or Products. |
| Branding did not change | Confirm the save notification, then reload. Also verify the logo is a safe local path or an HTTP or HTTPS URL. |
