Lots, serials, expiry, recall, and quality
Trace controlled stock, block unsafe lots, scan identifiers, and complete generated quality inspections.
Traceability connects a physical unit or batch to its receipts, locations, deliveries, returns, manufacturing, and stock movements.
Lots and serials
Open /inventory/lots for batch tracking and /inventory/serials for per unit tracking.
Lot status can be Active, Quarantined, or Recalled. Expiry is derived from the lot expiry date rather than stored as a separate status. Quarantined and recalled lots are blocked from normal outbound allocation.
Serial status can be In Stock, Shipped, Returned, or Scrapped. A serial represents one physical unit, so duplicate active use is rejected.
Creating or changing lots and serials requires SUPER_ADMIN or MANAGER. The corresponding Inventory flags must be enabled.
Expiry and recall
Use /inventory/expiry to review expired or soon to expire on hand lots. The warning horizon comes from Inventory settings.
Use /inventory/recall to review recalled or quarantined lots. Open the lot to change its hold status and inspect trace impact. Record a meaningful reason so operations can distinguish recall, investigation, and administrative hold.
If blocking expired stock is enabled, outbound allocation and shipment reject expired lots rather than merely warning.
Barcode and identifier scan
Open /inventory/scan to look up a barcode, serial, lot, or SKU. Keyboard wedge scanners work as text input. The Barcode Scanning capability must be enabled. Hardware, reader, nomenclature, and rule setup lives under the Devices settings area.
Scanning identifies stock. It does not by itself post a receipt, delivery, or adjustment unless the current operation explicitly supports that action.
Quality control
Open /warehouse/quality to configure checkpoints and reusable inspection plans. Checkpoints can trigger on receipt, production, or delivery.
Generated inspections appear at /warehouse/inspections. Record each pass or fail, measurement, or observation criterion, then complete the inspection. A failed inspection opens a nonconformance record when the quality workflow is enabled.
Quality Alerts at /warehouse/quality/alerts provide the issue board for follow up.
Common problems

| Lot cannot ship | It is quarantined, recalled, expired under a blocking policy, or has insufficient on hand quantity. |
| Serial is rejected | That serial already exists or its current status does not allow the operation. |
| Scan returns no item | Check the SKU, lot, serial, and barcode values and whether the lookup capability is enabled. |
| No inspection was generated | Quality Inspections is off or no active checkpoint matched the source operation. |
| Failed inspection did not move stock | Quality decisions and stock movements are separate unless the configured workflow creates a hold or reversal. |
