Workforce
Employees and attendance
Manage employee records, directory visibility, schedules, clock events, excuses, overtime, and attendance reports.
Employees and Attendance are related but separately installed modules. Employee records define the workforce. Attendance records capture when that workforce works.
Employee directory access
Open /employees.
SUPER_ADMIN and MANAGER receive the workforce administration view with active and former employees, org chart, department, performance, badges, equipment, onboarding, learning, benefits, retention, and certification tabs when their modules are enabled.
Other roles receive a restricted public directory with colleague identity, role, and reporting information. Sensitive employment, compensation, and administrative fields are not loaded into that view.
Create an employee
- Open
/employees/newas a SUPER_ADMIN or MANAGER. - Enter identity, organization, compensation, and profile information.
- Choose the department and manager where those modules are available.
- Save the record, then open
/employees/[id]to manage documents, tasks, equipment, skills, and timeline.
Only a SUPER_ADMIN can create another administrator. Managers can create permitted ordinary employee accounts.
Former employees and Trash
Use Former employees from the Directory tab for terminated employment records. This is different from Trash. Former employees remain part of workforce history.
Soft deleted employee records appear at /employees/trash. Permanent deletion and restore are restricted to SUPER_ADMIN because employee records can have extensive related history.
Attendance self service
Open /attendance. A permitted employee can check in, check out, add break minutes, review recent attendance, and file an excuse. The page uses the configured employee or workspace time zone for daily boundaries.
Attendance statuses include Present, Early, Late, Absent, Remote, Remote Pending, Excused, Leave, and Overtime.
Attendance administration
Managers can review team attendance, log or edit attendance, approve or reject remote work, mark an absence excused, and review overtime. The page tabs can include Attendance, Time Off, Work Schedule, Scheduling, and Reports based on role and installed modules.
Only a SUPER_ADMIN configures the attendance kiosk. Kiosk punches use their own workspace and token validation.
Reports and export
Managers can use /attendance/reporting and the Reports tab for attendance summaries, logs, graphs, and date range exports. Always confirm the time zone and report period before comparing worked hours.
Common problems
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| Employee sees only People directory | Their role is not SUPER_ADMIN or MANAGER. This is the intended privacy boundary. |
| Check out is unavailable | No open attendance session exists for the current user. |
| Remote status is pending | A manager must approve or reject the request. |
| Work Schedule tab is missing | The user is not a manager or the Employees module is unavailable. |
| Time looks one day off | Check employee and workspace time zones before editing the record. |
